Pathway to Paris 2024 ~ Five Molesey Athletes & One Cox trained at the GB Rowing Camp in France

MBC athlete Charlotte Coburn, selected to train with the GB Rowing development programme, tells us about their experience.

We had not been to La Bas at Le Temple-Sur-Lot training camp in South West France before, but the facilities were newly reburbished and accesible to all. We trained for twelve days between 26th January and 7th February 2023 with one day off to rest and enjoy some cultural activities. We spent most of our time on the water being trained by the GB Rowing coaches, but we also did some indoor cardio and strength and conditioning. There were a lot of athletes there; seven boats were out on the water at the same time so it was good job the river was long and wide! It was great that pathway athletes (like myself) could participate in this training together with the GB rowers. Getting the chance to train with everyone was great motivation and there were lots of learning experiences. We finished the camp off with a 5k where many people PB'd. Now onto trials in just over a week at Caversham and we'll see how the rest of the season pans out.
